Terms

The terms on which Qiyamah is offered.

What this is

Qiyamah is a free service for reading the Quran and the hadith corpus, searching both, and calculating prayer times. Using the site means accepting these terms.

It costs nothing, carries no advertising, and has no paid tier.

On the religious content

This is important, so it is stated first rather than buried.

Qiyamah presents scriptural texts, established translations, classical commentary and calculated prayer times. It is a reading tool, not a religious authority, and nothing in it constitutes a fatwa or a ruling.

The texts come from established published sources and the gradings from named scholars, attributed as such. Where scholars disagree — and on hadith gradings they frequently do — the app shows the grading and its source rather than adjudicating between them.

Prayer times are a calculation, and the calculation methods genuinely differ between schools. We provide several and let you choose; we do not tell you which is correct for you. For religious rulings, consult a qualified scholar in your own community.

Accuracy

We take considerable care with the texts and the arithmetic, and where the source material is incomplete we say so plainly rather than hiding it — Sunan ad-Darimi has no English translation, and that is labelled everywhere it appears.

Even so, the service is provided as it is, without warranty. Errors in transcription, translation, calculation or availability are possible. If something matters to you religiously or practically, verify it against a printed source or a scholar.

Your account

An account is optional and exists only so the app can remember your reading across devices. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you sign in with.

Do not use the service to break the law, to attempt to breach its security, or to disrupt it for other people.

The public API

A free API is available at api.qiyamah.com for hadith, prayer times and Quran metadata. It requires no key and is rate limited per address.

Quranic text and tafsir are deliberately not available through it. That content is provided by Quran Foundation under terms permitting display but not redistribution, so we may show it on this site and may not re-serve it to others.

If you build something using the hadith text, credit the collections you use. Do not attempt to circumvent the rate limits or to reproduce the corpus wholesale.

Content and rights

The scriptural texts themselves are not ours and we claim no ownership of them. Translations, commentary and the hadith corpus belong to their respective publishers and compilers, and are used under the terms each grants.

The design, the software and the presentation are ours.

Availability

We try to keep the service running and will not deliberately break it, but it is free and offered without any guarantee of uptime. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because something upstream is.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of the service — including reliance on a prayer time, a translation or a hadith grading shown here. This is a free tool provided in good faith.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top of this page changes when they do, and continued use after that means accepting the revision.
